Executive Coaching, or 1:1 coaching, involves a range of tools and discussion techniques to help individuals set and explore specific goals and work towards achieving their potential. Coaching takes place over a series of sessions, with the option of in-person or via Zoom.

Executive coaching is ideal for individuals who are wanting to grow in their career and need a structured approach to exploring possibilities, barriers, and actions for success.

It is recommended that individuals who would like executive coaching opt-in for the Insights Discovery profile (additional cost) which enables a deeper understanding of self.

Insights Discovery is a psychometric tool based on the psychology of Dr Carl Jung and Dr Jolande Jacobi.  After completing the Insights Discovery evaluator, an easy to read and apply Insights Discovery report is generated.

The profile uses a simple 4-colour energy model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to their teams.  It helps individuals.: 

• understand their own and other's communication preferences,
• improve collaboration with peers and key stakeholders, and 
• provide a common language for feedback and constructive conversations.

Instructional coaching is becoming increasingly popular and relevant in education.  Also referred to as Pedagogical Coaching, it is where a coach works one-on-one with a teacher or teaching team to model and observe classroom practice (pedagogy) to support professional growth. Key features of instructional or pedagogical coaching are goal setting, reflective practice, and action research. 

JHAMeducation offers both individual instructional coaching as well as workshops for teams and strategic planning for school-based instructional coaching programs. Instructional coaching for schools within Australia is based on the AITSL teaching standards and reference the High Impact Instructional Strategies (HIITS).  

Mentoring, as distinct from coaching, is more about being a sounding board and providing general advice.  This is useful for individuals who are looking for someone to provide constructive feedback on projects, work product and even career planning.  It is more conversational and flexible, driven by the mentees areas of concern or interest.
