Building upon Emma Doyle's groundbreaking work in "What Makes a Great Coach?", I'm embarking on a research project exploring the essential qualities of outstanding 21st-century educators. Inspired by Emma's approach of gathering insights from hundreds of practitioners, this collaboration seeks to uncover the key skills and attributes that define great teachers through the voices of those directly impacted: teachers and students themselves.
While the concept of exceptional teaching isn't novel, Emma's methodology of collecting and sharing actionable anecdotes from industry professionals offers a unique and valuable perspective. Recognizing the potential to translate this approach to the educational sphere, I, with Emma's guidance and support, invite contributions from a global network of educators and students. I believe that by harnessing the diverse perspectives of teachers, school leaders, administrators, and learners of all ages, we can collectively create a rich understanding of what truly makes a great teacher in today's dynamic learning environment.
Therefore, I extend an open invitation to all within the educational community to participate in this collaborative effort. Please share this invitation with your networks and colleagues around the world. I am eager to embark on this journey of discovery and excited to unveil the invaluable insights we gather together.
